Top 10 cds of 08

In no order at all...

1. Scars on Broadway - just an incredible, simple and catchy as hell album. Too bad no one bought it.

2. Opeth - Pure musicianship from entire band especially the new guys.

3. Big Elf - A mix(not copy) of the best stuff from Beatles, Sabbath, Zepplin and Floyd. 

4. Muse - Great live cd/dvd of the bands greatest hits.

5. Grand Magnus - a bit 80s on the vocals, but stoner rock on the music. Fun.

6. Axel Rose - Notice I said Axel and not Guns n' Roses? Because as an Axel solo cd it's probably the best album of the year start to finish. But as a GNR cd it sucks.

7. Daylight Dies - Gothic doom/death metal from Europe...need I say more?

8. The 69 Eyes - Great cd of rocking songs with a goth twist and evil elvis singing. 

9. Witchcraft - Riff, Riff, Riff...way too many good riffs for one band. 

10. Judas Priest - Double concept album at their age and they not only pull it off, but make a masterpiece.

Big let downs and disappointments from this year...

1. Metallica - anybody that really thinks it's a good album is like an enabler to an addict.

2. AC/DC - not bad, but redundant after 2-3 songs.

3. Slipknot - should have retired after your 3rd album like you planned. Worst album in their career. 

Mexican Ice.

Every year at winter time, as soon as it starts snowing, 

everyone cautions each other to watch out for black ice.

But you never hear anybody warning you about

the even deadlier mexican ice.

Mexican ice is usually found in front of Home Depot

and on street corners.

While it's easier to see than black ice, 

it's real danger is when you pass it.

Mexican ice has been known to jump up 

and stab people in the neck with a rusty screwdriver.

Throwing salt onto mexican ice is useless. 

The only thing that seems to work is chucking a handful of coins at it.

So this winter try to avoid areas that are heavily populated

with mexican ice and always make sure you have coins ready to throw...

on a side note, 

i've heard the same kind of defense works on jew ice as well.

Black Convict vs. White Convict.

Why is it that black people come out of jail with pride 

and a sense of accomplishment and

white people come out of jail embarrassed and disgraced?

Rappers actually look forward to going to jail, 

so they can write their "prison album"

and it usually sells millions.

You don't see white guys going to jail and working on their next

business proposal or investment.

No one on wall street is waiting for them to drop their prison business plan.
